The Asia Kakehashi Project is a government-sponsored program by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) focused on facilitating intercultural exchange and understanding between teenagers in Japan and 20 other Asian countries including the Philippines.

Recently nine high school students from the Philippines concluded their 6-month exchange program in Japan. These individuals were immersed with the Japanese culture and had the opportunity to hone their global competencies. It’s nice to have them back here in the country full of unforgettable experiences during the exchange. Aside from being able to speak in Nihongo fluently, and understanding the culture, the igniting passion of giving back to the community is something to be celebrated. There is no doubt that the Asia Kakehashi Project bridged and cultivated a new perspective in seeing the world and being a catalyst of change.
