2026 Regional AFS Youth Assembly in Manila

The 2026 Regional AFS Youth Assembly (RYA) in Manila, the official regional edition of the global AFS Youth Assembly, brings the platform’s core values of intercultural learning, high-level dialogue, leadership, and action into the Asia-Pacific context. Hosted this year in the Philippines, the assembly brings together impactful young leaders from across the region to connect with like-minded peers, trailblazers, and global influencers.

Grounded in the AFS mission, the RYA serves as a high-impact platform designed to move beyond dialogue and toward measurable results. It provides a space where Filipino and regional youth leaders move beyond conversations and transform ideas into concrete action.

Through intercultural exchange, leadership development, collaborative learning, and project-based activities, participants will be equipped with the skills, networks, and confidence needed to create meaningful impact in their own communities. RYA invites young leaders to reflect on the power of dialogue, collaboration, and collective action in shaping more inclusive and sustainable futures.

Why Regional AFS Youth Assembly Matters

Asia and the Pacific are home to nearly one billion young people—the largest youth population on the planet. While youth engagement is at an all-time high, young perspectives are still too often left out of formal decision-making. The 2026 Regional AFS Youth Assembly (RYA) addresses this challenge directly.

Grounded in the AFS mission, the assembly leverages Global Citizenship Education (GCED) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to position intercultural competence as an essential leadership capability for an interconnected world. Through TED-style keynotes, expert masterclasses, and intersectoral roundtables with policymakers, delegates acquire the insights, practical tools, and mentorship necessary to translate global goals into localized initiatives.
