Experience AFS

Learn how exchange programs connect lives and share cultures. If you are a high school student, a parent, a high school or university official, a funding organization or an interested donor who wants to make a difference, this expo is for you.

What is AFS?

AFS (American Field Service) Intercultural Programs Philippines is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.

Since its founding over sixty (60) years ago, AFS has been leading the world of student exchanges. Today, close to thirteen thousand (13,000) students are sent all over the world and are hosted by families, schools and communities for one year of cultural immersion. Truly, intercultural education is touching the lives of well deserving students and the communities they belong to. They come back a year later as confident global citizens with bigger dreams and ready to make a difference. Mr. Tony Meloto, founder of Gawad Kalinga and Mr. Leo Valdez, world-class performer, were AFSers who both went on a year program to the USA.

The Intercultural Education Expo of the Year!

AFS will be having its first ever intercultural education exhibit, AFS Schooltura (An Intercultural Education Expo) from July 24-26, 2010 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City. Learn and be part of our different programs – Sending, Hosting, Volunteering, and Sponsoring. On the sending program, go abroad on an intercultural exchange. On the hosting program, open your home or school to a foreign student. On the volunteering program, volunteer your time and talent. Lastly, on the sponsoring program, sponsor an exchange student.

Be entertained by young and vibrant singers. Listen to testimonials from our alumni exchange students. Have fun with our games. AFS professional staff and volunteers will be around to assist you should you have any questions.
