Year Program (YP): For one academic year, AFS YP students live with a host family and attend a local secondary school as full-time students. This begins in July/ August/ September or January/ February/ March depending on the country.

Youth Exchange and Study (YES): Funded by the US State Department, the Youth Exchange and Study Program is an innovative high school exchange program aimed at promoting international understanding specially between Americans and people in countries with significant Muslim populations.
